These 100% functional trench lighter replicas were originally carried in WWI by soldiers in the field. Initially these were built from the used brass bullet casings. In the trenches they offered a clever way to hide the light and sheild from wind their raised shielding that also acted as a cover.
The trench lighter became an iconic piece of gear throughout the World Wars. These lighters take standard fuel and they are virtually windproof. There’s a mechanism to block the whipping wand from stamping out the flames. It’s also easy to turn off the flame by sliding the wick back down. This is a great tool if you spend a lot of time outdoors in windy areas, or if you’re an appreciator of history.
