This is the next round of these specially made Launch 8s! The Launch 8 is designed my infamous auto maker Matt Diskin who customized these specially for Blade Show West. The Launch 8 ships with regular weave carbon fiber but Diskin removes that and cuts out various styles of his Lightning Strike and Marble CF along with some G10 colors he likes to make something special.
The Launch 8 features the sleek, symmetrical lines of the classic stiletto in a
push-button knife that’s lightweight—only 2.4 ounces—and easy-to-carry.
The blade is CPM 154 with a stonewashed finish. This powdered metallurgy
steel has a more uniform distribution of carbides, so it takes and
holds an excellent edge. It also offers good corrosion resistance, wear
resistance, and toughness. The slim blade is sharpened on one side, and
it has a deep top grind to lighten weight and add stiletto style.
The handle is gray anodized aluminum with a handsome carbon fiber
insert. To maintain the Launch 8’s symmetrical look, the pivot is sunk
deep in the handle and covered by the insert. Integrated fingerguards on
both top and bottom of the handle keep fingers away from danger. The
Launch 8 also has a reversible pocket clip (right/left, tip-up) for
convenient carry.
Kershaw was founded in 1974 to design and manufacture tools
that knife users would be proud to own, carry, and use. This has meant that
every Kershaw knife must be of the highest quality. Whether it’s a hardworking
pocketknife, a hunting knife, or a special collectors’ edition, Kershaw always
chooses appropriate, high-quality materials and is dedicated to intensive
craftsmanship. Along with extremely tight tolerances and state-of-the-art
manufacturing techniques, this ensures that Kershaw knives provide a lifetime
of performance.
